Our place in the community

The Dorking Christian Centre aims to be at the heart of the local community. With social activities throughout the week as well as providing space for the Community Fridge, Community Wardrobe and Foodbank, we are a busy, thriving building in the centre of Dorking.

Our Centre Chaplain, David Pitkeathly, aims to be a caring presence, supporting all who use the Centre. He runs activites helping those with Dementia and those struggling with their mental health. Click here for his contact details.

Find out more about these services and activities here at the Dorking Christian Centre, on our What's On page.

All served by our wonderful cooks and a team of friendly volunteers. We hope to see you in the cafe soon.

Christmas Day Lunch

For people who would otherwise be on their own on Christmas Day, we welcome them here for a full Christmas lunch.

Who are we?

The Centre is owned by the local Methodist Circuit, and supported through a covenant between the Methodists and Anglicans at St. Martin's Shared Church. We are actively involved in Dorking Churches Together, and building links into the wider community.

We aim to cover all operating costs from the cafe, lettings, and other services that we run, but inevitably finances are tight. Essential maintenance and upgrade work to the property has left our vital reserves much depleted, so we are currently in serious fund raising mode. If you would like to make a donation, or have ideas for fundraising we would be pleased to hear from you. We are eligible to claim Gift Aid on all donations from UK taxpayers, contact the Centre Managers for more information.

What are we missing?

We are always willing to consider new facilities & activities for the community. If you are interested in running something, please do get in touch.
